The Challenge
Many Jews do not appreciate the relevance of Torah wisdom to everyday challenges and to the problems facing the Jewish community and general society. Even within the observant religious community, the Torah is often regarded as merely a legal corpus, with little appreciation for its spiritual guidance in discerning and pursuing that which is important and meaningful.
The Solution
Jewish Ethical Wisdom presents thoughtful articles on subjects relating to Jewish ethics. Topics will include Judaic perspectives on specific values and their relationship to other values, the relevance of Jewish ethical and spiritual perspectives to issues which people grapple with in their everyday lives and the relationship between Jewish commitment and ethical development. Much more is required in terms of education and communal initiatives but the groundwork will be laid through discussion of these themes by Jewish scholars.
